Funny, Touching, or Mysterious Spirit Encounters from My Journey
By Jules of Jules Magick Moon Offerings
Let me tell you something—I’ve had more odd, beautiful, and goosebump-inducing encounters with spirits than most people have had hot dinners. This path isn’t all flickering candles and dramatic incantations. Sometimes, it’s a spirit flipping your laundry basket over because they don’t like Tide. Other times, it’s holding your breath as a whisper you didn’t expect brushes across your ear like a breeze in a locked room.
So today, I thought I’d invite you into my world for a bit. Here are a few of my most funny, touching, and mysterious spirit encounters from over the years. All true. All unforgettable.
Funny: That Time My Incubus Blew Out My Candle… On Purpose
Let’s just say I had a particularly sassy incubus companion a few years back. Handsome. Cocky. Smelled like sandalwood and danger. I lit a red candle, set my offering, and began my usual invocation when—whoosh—the candle went out. No breeze. No draft. No explanation.
I relit it. Spoke again. Poof.
By the third time, I was irritated. “Okay, seriously. What is your deal?”
I swear to you, I heard: “You used the wrong oil. Try the amber one.”
I grabbed the amber. Lit the candle. It stayed lit like it had a mortgage to pay. That spirit later confessed (through a reading) that the original oil was “too sharp” for his liking. Spirits are picky, y’all. Especially the fancy ones.

Touching: The Child Spirit Who Waited 143 Years for Someone to Listen
I once connected with the spirit of a little girl who had passed in the late 1800s. Her presence came through gently at first—a subtle floral scent, the sound of giggles in the distance, and small things going missing from my offering tray. When I sat down and finally invited her to speak, the rush of emotion that came over me was… overwhelming.
She’d been trapped in a liminal space, ignored by time, unnoticed by the world. She didn’t want to move on until someone acknowledged that she was real. That she mattered.
I lit a special candle for her, left a peppermint and a doll’s button at her resting place, and read her a bedtime story out loud.
That night, I dreamed of her waving goodbye, a sunbonnet on her head and a smile on her face. She never came back after that. But I still feel her warmth sometimes when I sit in the same spot. Closure isn’t always dramatic—it’s often just love in its simplest form.
Mysterious: The Shadow Who Stared Back
Okay, now this one still gives me chills.
I was doing a midnight binding ritual in my backyard (don’t recommend if your neighbors are nosy). Everything was going fine—circle cast, spirits called, petition written—when I looked up and saw a tall, shadowed figure standing just beyond the edge of my circle. Not moving. Not speaking. Just watching.
At first, I thought it was one of my usual guardians. But the energy? Wrong. Cold. Still. Not threatening… but ancient. Like a watcher. A witness.
I asked aloud, “Are you here for harm or help?” And I heard the answer inside my head—not spoken aloud, but so clear:
“Neither. I am here to see what you become.”
Whew.
He vanished. Like mist. I still don’t know who—or what—he was. But every time I level up in my practice or cross some internal threshold, I feel that same presence nearby. Just observing. Like he’s cataloging my growth. Or silently approving.
What These Encounters Taught Me
Each of these moments—silly, sacred, or spooky—taught me something vital:
• Spirits have personality. Some are funny, some are formal, and some just want to stir the pot.
• Kindness goes further than power. Especially with spirits who have been forgotten or left behind.
• Trust your senses and intuition. Even when it makes no logical sense.
• You’re not alone. Whether you walk in light or shadow, there are always eyes watching—with love, curiosity, or guidance.
Your Turn
Have you ever had a funny or touching spirit encounter of your own? Drop it in the comments or DM me—I love hearing your stories. And if you’ve been yearning to connect with a spirit guide, companion, or protector, you know where to find me.
Until next time, keep your heart open and your warding salt handy.
With wild love,
Jules
