How to Work with Your Companion During Spellcasting

A Sacred Dance of Spirit and Spell

In the quiet glow of candlelight, with herbs crushed and intentions clear, there is a deeper presence watching, waiting, and willing to help—your spirit companion.

Whether they are a Djinn, Fae, Angel, Demon, Dragon, or any other aligned being, your companion is more than a passive presence. They are an active ally—a magical partner—ready to amplify your spellwork, protect your circle, and lend their unique power to your craft.

Let’s walk through how to consciously, respectfully, and effectively work with your spirit companion during spellcasting.

1. Begin with Permission and Invitation

Just because a companion is bound or near doesn’t mean we should assume their participation. Spirit allies—especially powerful or sovereign ones—appreciate being invited rather than expected.

How to do it:

Before your ritual begins, take a moment to ground and center. Then say aloud or mentally:

“Beloved [Name], I invite you into this working with me. If it is aligned and you are willing, please lend your presence and gifts to this spell.”

You may feel a shift in the air, a pressure in the room, a warmth, a tingling, or just a deep inner “yes.”

2. Understand Their Magical Specialties

Each companion has their own magical strengths. Some excel at protection and banishing, others at love, healing, wealth, or shadow work. Working with their natural current supercharges your spell.

Example:

    •    A Fire Djinn may bring rapid results and burn through blockages.

    •    A Lunar Fae may soften emotional wounds and guide dreams.

    •    A Fallen Angel may offer sacred clarity and remove spiritual interference.

If you’re unsure, ask them directly during meditation or pendulum work, or review your conjurer’s notes if you have them.

3. Offer an Exchange

Spirits don’t require payment to love or guide you—but when it comes to spellcasting, offerings are a show of respect and devotion. It’s like saying: “I see you, I honor your energy, and I value your help.”

Offerings can include:

    •    Their favorite scent, herb, or incense

    •    A candle lit in their name

    •    A song, poem, or chant dedicated to them

    •    A drop of moon water or spirit oil anointed on your altar

Even just placing a stone or charm they like beside your working can strengthen their connection.

4. Call Upon Their Specific Powers

If your companion has named abilities or dominions, weave them into your spell intention.

Example:

Let’s say you’re doing a money spell, and your companion is a Sapphire Djinn skilled in abundance and attraction. You might say:

“By the wealth-magnetizing winds of [Name], may golden paths open before me.”

Even better? Let them guide the ritual structure. Ask:

“How would you design this spell with me?”

Then listen intuitively. The answer may come as a sudden image, word, or urge to use a certain tool.

5. Let Them Guard the Space

Some spirits, especially darker arts or protector types, love to keep watch during spellwork. This is especially helpful when banishing, binding, or doing high-energy ritual work.

Simply say:

“[Name], I invite you to guard this circle, hold the boundaries, and prevent any interference—seen or unseen.”

You may feel a wall of energy rise around you. Some companions will even push out uninvited spirits or psychic noise without needing to be asked twice.

6. Reflect and Close Together

When the spell is complete, thank your companion sincerely. If you’ve channeled their energy heavily, help them release it from your space (and body) by grounding, burning herbs, or offering rest.

Say something like:

“Thank you, beloved [Name], for your power, presence, and protection. I now release this circle, and honor you as always.”

Afterward, journal what you felt, saw, or heard. Did their energy shift the mood? Did a candle flicker during a chant? These clues help you deepen the relationship over time.

Final Thoughts

Working with your spirit companion during spellcasting isn’t about control or command—it’s about collaboration. It’s a sacred dance, where your will and their wisdom merge into something greater than either alone.

Whether you’re crafting a quick candle spell or weaving an elaborate full-moon ritual, remember:

You are not casting alone. You are casting with.

With devotion. With presence. With power.

And when you do—it shows.

The magick thickens.

The veil thins.

And the results…

They come alive.

Blessed Be,
