The Silver Thread of Renewal

For healing wounds—physical, emotional, or spiritual—by weaving new strength into broken places.

Ingredients:

    •    A silver thread or ribbon

    •    A white candle

    •    A small dish of water with salt stirred in

    •    A sprig of rosemary

Steps:

    1.    Light the white candle. Hold the silver thread between your fingers and dip it into the salted water.

    2.    Pass the thread through the flame (quickly, without burning it), then lay it across the rosemary sprig.

    3.    Speak:

“Where pain has torn, let mending weave,

By silver thread and what I believe.

Knit the whole, restore the true,

As wax melts, let healing renew.”

    4.    Keep the thread tied to the rosemary until it dries, then bury them together in the earth.
