Spell of Moonshadow Mourning

Purpose: To help process and release grief, while honoring the memory of who or what has been lost.

You Will Need:
    •    A silver candle (for moonlight)
    •    A small mirror
    •    A white cloth or veil
    •    Dried lavender and myrrh
    •    A photo or token of the departed

Ritual:
    1.    At night, place the mirror flat on your altar or floor, and set the silver candle upon it.
    2.    Circle the mirror with dried lavender and myrrh.
    3.    Place the photo/token on the white cloth and fold it closed, holding it to your chest.
    4.    Light the candle and say:
“By moon’s calm breath and shadow’s grace,
I call to peace this hollowed space.
Though sorrow lingers like a tide,
Let love remain, and grief subside.”
    5.    Breathe deeply. Speak aloud your memories, your pain, your love. Cry if you must. Let it be sacred.
    6.    When ready, unfold the cloth, place it beside the mirror, and extinguish the candle.
    7.    Sleep with the white cloth under your pillow for 3 nights to dream-heal.

Best Time: During a waning moon or on Monday night.
