How I Connect to Spirits Safely (And You Can Too)
By Jules of Jules Magick Moon Offerings
Spirit work is beautiful, powerful, and deeply transformative—but it must be done with respect, clarity, and protection. I’ve been connecting with spirits for years, and here’s how I do it safely—so you can too.
1. Set Your Sacred Space
Before anything, I create a container for spiritual work. This isn’t just aesthetics—it’s energetic hygiene.
What I do:
• Cleanse the space with incense (mugwort or frankincense are my go-to).
• Light a white candle for protection.
• Call in spiritual allies—guides, ancestors, or deities I work with (especially Hekate).
• Use wards or crystals (black tourmaline, obsidian, or selenite).
Tip for you:
Even a small altar or a candle-lit table can become your sacred space with intention.
2. Ground + Center Yourself
Never approach spirits when you’re frazzled, angry, or drained.
What I do:
• Deep breathing or a quick grounding visualization (roots growing from feet into the Earth).
• Drink water or hold a grounding stone.
Why?
Spirits are energy—so your energy matters. When you’re grounded, you’re in control.
3. Use Protection Before Opening the Door
Think of spirit work like answering a magical phone. You choose who you want to speak to.
My methods:
• Cast a protective circle or sphere of light.
• Wear protection jewelry charged with my intent.
• Recite a protection chant or invoke my guardian spirits.
A simple chant for you:
“Only those spirits of truth, light, and highest good may enter this space.”
4. Clear Intention = Clear Connection
I always go into a session knowing why I want to connect. Is it to:
• Receive a message?
• Conjure a specific spirit?
• Offer gratitude?
Tip:
Don’t be vague—spirits respond best to clear intention.
5. Tools That Help Me Connect
You don’t need fancy tools, but they can anchor the connection:
• Pendulums (for yes/no questions)
• Spirit boards (only with heavy protections)
• Channeled writing
• Offerings (like incense, flowers, or even favorite foods of the spirit)
6. Trust Your Gut
One of my non-negotiables in spirit work:
If it feels off, it is off.
• Dizzy? Headache? Heavy air? Discomfort?
End the session. Cleanse. Regroup.
Your intuition is the best spiritual radar.
7. Close Every Session (Always)
You wouldn’t leave your front door wide open, right? Same with spiritual portals.
How I close:
• Thank the spirit(s).
• Ask them to return to their realm.
• Snuff the candle.
• Cleanse again—sound, smoke, or salt.
Closing phrase you can use:
“Thank you for your presence. I now close this session in peace and protection.”
8. Journal and Reflect
After each session, I write down:
• Who came through
• What was said/felt
• Any signs, symbols, or visions
Spirit communication strengthens with practice and reflection.
A Final Word: You Are in Charge
No spirit should scare, threaten, or control you. You are sovereign. You set the terms.
When approached with respect, spirits become allies, teachers, and protectors.
If you’d like a custom protection spell, spirit connection kit, or a spirit companion conjured safely for you, that’s what I do at Jules Magick Moon Offerings.
Let’s connect you with your spirit team—safely, clearly, and powerfully.
