Spell to Welcome Beltane
“Flame of Union, Light of May”
Best for: April 30th evening or May 1st morning
Tools (optional, but powerful):
• A red candle (passion and life)
• A white candle (purity and light)
• Fresh flowers or greenery (hawthorn, daisies, or any spring bloom)
• Small bell or chime
• Bowl of water and bowl of salt
Begin by saying:
“I stand between Spring and Summer’s embrace,
As the Wheel turns, I find my place.
With fire and bloom, with heart and flame,
I welcome Beltane, in the Goddess’s name.”
(Light the red candle and say):
“This is the fire of passion and joy,
The spark of life no time can destroy.”
(Light the white candle and say):
“This is the flame of sacred light,
To guide my soul through the coming nights.”
(Sprinkle salt in the water and touch your forehead with a drop):
“Blessed be my body and spirit anew,
I open the door to all that is true.”
(Ring the bell gently, imagining fresh energy awakening around you):
“By flower and flame, by dance and desire,
I call forth the Beltane fire.
Spirits of love, of earth, of the sky,
Join me now, as Beltane draws nigh.”
(Sit quietly. Visualize your heart blooming like spring flowers. When ready, close with:)
“Blessings to the Lord and Lady fair,
May love and laughter fill the air.
As above, so below,
Let the Beltane blessings flow.”
So mote it be!
