Witchcraft Isn’t One Size Fits All—Here’s How to Find Your Path
Witchcraft isn’t a boxed set you grab off a shelf. It’s not one grimoire, one deity, one dusty path walked the same way by everyone. It’s a deeply personal, spiritual unfolding—a dance between your soul and the unseen. If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by the endless traditions, tools, and titles out there (green witch, hedge witch, chaos witch… where do you begin?!), know this: You don’t need to fit into someone else’s mold. The right path will feel like coming home.
So let’s talk about how to find it.
1. Why Witchcraft Isn’t One Size Fits All
There’s no central book, no universal church, no high priestess who decides what makes you a “real” witch. That’s part of the magick. Your ancestry, your energy, your beliefs, your spiritual allies—they all shape your craft. What works beautifully for one witch might feel offbeat or even draining to another. Some thrive with structure and ceremonial rituals. Others are wild witches, barefoot under the moon with nothing but intuition and breath.
Your path is valid. Full stop.
2. Your Origins Hold Clues
One of the best places to begin? Look at where you come from. Your ancestral roots—be they Celtic, Norse, African, Indigenous, Slavic, or a beautiful blend—can point you toward spirits and traditions that naturally resonate with your blood and soul. You don’t have to only work with ancestral magick, but exploring it can unlock power that’s been sleeping in your lineage for centuries.
Tip: Light a candle and ask your ancestors to gently guide you to the magick meant for you. Then watch what signs begin to stir.
3. Follow What Sparks You
Are you obsessed with the moon? Do you feel drawn to fire or the ocean? Do herbal remedies whisper to you, or do you dream of spirit guides and underworld journeys? These pulls aren’t random. They’re intuitive nudges toward the type of magick you’re meant to work with.
Here’s a quick breakdown:
• Green witches thrive with herbs, earth spirits, and garden spells.
• Sea witches connect with tides, salt, shells, and water spirits.
• Cosmic witches feel at home with astrology, star magick, and planetary timing.
• Hearth witches find magick in daily rituals, food, and home blessings.
• Spirit witches (like many of us here) work with entities, ancestors, and the unseen realms.
You don’t have to pick one lane. You can weave a few together. The path is yours to shape.
4. Try, Explore, and Evolve
Start small. Cast a simple protection spell. Create a moon water ritual. Connect with a spirit guide. See what clicks. Your path will evolve as you evolve. You might begin as a crystal-wielding intuitive and later awaken to a deep bond with ceremonial demon magick (ask me how I know!).
Don’t be afraid to say, “This doesn’t work for me,” or, “I’m not sure where I fit yet.” That’s part of the journey. Magick honors authenticity—not perfection.
5. Spirit Companions Can Guide You
I can’t stress this enough: You don’t have to walk your path alone. Spirit allies—whether conjured with intention or met through dream and meditation—can help lead you home to your true magick. Many of my clients receive custom spirit companions (djinn, dragons, fae, divine messengers) who awaken the hidden path within them.
Your guides often know your purpose before you do.
6. Trust Your Witchy Compass
No matter what you see on social media or read in the latest trending book, trust your inner compass. You might never do a single spell with a cauldron or chant in Latin—and that’s okay. If dancing barefoot while whispering your own words to the wind feels right, then that is witchcraft. If you’re someone who feels power pulse through your hands when holding an old key or burning specific incense—follow that.
Your magick. Your way.
You were never meant to follow someone else’s spellbook word for word. Witchcraft isn’t about copying—it’s about remembering who you are and becoming who you were always meant to be.
Your path is out there. It might be misty. It might wind through star-lit woods and strange dreams. But it’s yours.
And you are more powerful than you know.
